Ruby L. Nugent MA LIS is the the Biomedical Research Librarians at National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado. Her scholarly interests include integrating cultural humility into medical program curriculum, increasing Hispanic/Latinx representation in health sciences research and scholarship, and reinforcing the medical librarian’s role in providing tools and resources to increase health literacy and improve healthcare outcomes for underrepresented communities. She recieved her graduate degree from the University of Arizona in 2019 and is a Knowledge River Scholar. She has been an active and contributing member of REFORMA (a national association that promotes library and information services to Hispanic/Latinx and Spanish-Speaking communities) for over 20 years and currently serves on the national organization's Research Committee. Ruby is a member of MLA's Oral History Committee and the 2021/2022 MLA Latinx Caucus Chair Elect.
