Faythe Thurman, MLIS, MA, is the Scholarly Engagement Librarian at the West Virginia University Health Sciences Library. In this position, she is the library liaison to the School of the Nursing as well as the Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Hematology, Oncology, and Radiation Oncology programs at the School of Medicine. Prior to working at WVU, she was a veterinary librarian for 3 years, and has been working in academic libraries for over 6 years. Her experiences job searching and working in academic libraries during the COVID-19 pandemic increased her interest in analyzing the ways libraries can utilize technology to create more equitable services and processes for people that use the library as well as current and prospective library employees.
