WHAT WE DO

We develop and deploy digital forensic technology to identify child predators, fight digital crime, and combat disinformation (deepfakes and synthetic media).

Medex is pioneering digital file format forensics – deploying forensic parsing and analysis at the file format domain to comprehensively extract all existing data from digital files based on their binary structure while leveraging that structure to introduce automated intelligence related to the provenance and authenticity of the files themselves.

We offer automated software, as well as training and expert forensic services to increase our clients’ capacity to know everything there is to know about a given digital file.

WHY WE ARE UNIQUE

Commencing with technology supporting digital video files, Medex brings patented analytical methods to the digital forensics community. Our Medex Video Authentication Platform helps our colleagues and clients determine the trustworthiness of digital evidence and to know when a video has been edited or modified, and to recognize original camera video from synthetically produced media.

Unlike any other software, Medex reveals information that is not present in the metadata of a digital video file. With this additional intelligence, investigators are answering new questions about video and identifying additional crimes and perpetrators in previously impossible ways.

OUR TECHNOLOGY

Play Video

The Medex Video Authentication Platform’s strengths lay in its speed, ease-of-use, potential for investigative leads, and ability to identify modification and validation errors in video files. We offer both a SaaS solution and an On-Premise solution that are low overhead and commitment for organizations to license and try the technology themselves.

Medex offers law enforcement professionals, journalists, lawyers, forensic examiners, and intelligence analysts a first-ever forensic toolset to automatically inspect a video file, identify the camera that created it, identify any software that was used to edit it, and report modifications that were made to the file. Our users in federal, state, county, and private agencies are already employing Medex to solve child exploitation video production cases, to validate body worn camera video for court, and to disprove disinformation videos (e.g., deepfakes, synthetic media, and generative AI).
