This free, 5-part webinar series provides a historical review of sudden pediatric deaths over time and outlines a comprehensive investigation while highlighting the need for collaboration among the multiple agencies involved in sudden pediatric death investigations and care of families. The specific roles of pathologists, medical examiners/coroners, death investigators, first responders, law enforcement, emergency department professionals as well as the roles of the pediatrician and primary care physicians in the follow-up care of families will be addressed.

The SUDC Foundation advocates for research in many ways. Through funding, producing, endorsing, and participating in research, we are committed to a future free of SUDC. The Foundation also connects professionals and families with research opportunities which can often provide access to additional testing, such as genetic analysis, and neuropathology/MRI to further understand such tragedies.
The SUDC Foundation supports efforts to ensure the fair and compassionate treatment of families, that professionals have the resources and training to provide comprehensive and standardized investigations, and the support of research into all sudden unexpected pediatric deaths.

The SUDC Foundation advocates for and supports DNA banking after the sudden death of a child to support genetic testing if recommended in the future. The Foundation can provide financial and logistical support to your office to attain DNA banking for families who wish to pursue it.
