Brad Russ | Executive Director National Criminal Justice Training Center of Fox Valley Technical College

As we approach the second anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, I want to begin by recognizing the extraordinary efforts undertaken by our staff and instructors to overcome the many challenges associated with converting traditional classroom training programs to a range of eLearning formats. Working in close collaboration with one another across 12 training categories funded through 14 unique grants and contract training purpose areas, NCJTC staff members and instructors quickly and effectively pivoted to restructure dozens of training programs and their associated resources into a highly effective online format. We understand the critical need for training and technical assistance and are proud to report that over the first 20 months of the pandemic, NCJTC delivered 695 online training events to over 105,000 participants. While we are hopeful for the resumption of collaborative in-person training on a broader scale, we have learned many valuable lessons throughout these unprecedented times. The pandemic has redefined the relationship between training providers and the people we serve, while also underscoring the value of online learning platforms. Through this medium, we have seen increased levels of participation and greater access to critically important

information and resources for underserved, tribal, and rural communities. Future learning opportunities will continue to leverage technology to deliver eLearning resources available through Fox Valley Technical College. We remain committed to learning models that employ a combination of online and inperson training. NCJTC is dedicated to developing new programs and resources to meet the constantly evolving needs of the criminal justice communities we serve. I encourage you to explore our website to locate the new classroom and online learning opportunities developed this past year at ncjtc.org/training.
