"Being in the Victory Circle as our car was hoisted up in the air was thrilling, and a highlight of my career." That's how Sr. Event Marketing Manager Marilyn Seright recalls her experience at the Indianapolis 500 in 1996, when Delta Faucet Company was a major sponsor of Hemelgarn Racing and the winning car, with Buddy Lazier behind the wheel.    But race day was just part of the story. Throughout that entire month of May, DFC hosted hundreds of customers from around the country for training at both our Greensburg plant and global headquarters in Indianapolis. As part of their experience, 80 attendees were bussed to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway every day for lunch and a tour. On race day, we hosted 150 VIPs to enjoy the festivities, and in this case, the big win. "Ron Hemelgarn and the entire Hemelgarn Racing team were great ambassadors for the company during our years of sponsorship, from 1989 to 2003," Marilyn says. "And while I've enjoyed so many wonderful moments throughout my almost 47 years at DFC, that year's race is the most cherished. Our involvement in the Indy 500 over the years brought together and built meaningful relationships with customers, our sales teams, reps and employees - all the people that make DFC what it is today!" #70YearsofDFC

In recognition of National Mental Health Awareness Month, the Delta Faucet Company Working Parents Community (WPC) hosted a virtual event last week featuring Dr. Nerissa Bauer, MD, MPH, FAAP, a behavioral pediatrician and blogger of Let’s Talk Kids Health. The community talk attendees, which included employees of DFC and parent company Masco Corporation, learned about evidence-based parenting programs and strategies that focus on kids' mental health.    "I have a four-year-old son, an autistic nephew, and a nephew with ADHD, so I was eager to attend the event and learn tips to be a better parent and more supportive aunt," says Barza Diaz. "I appreciated learning more about neurodiversity in the framework of mental health, and the importance of non-verbal cues when communicating with children." The session also included a Q&A session and surprise digital takeaway. Thank you, Dr. Bauer, for sharing your informative insights with us. If you attended the event, tell us about one of the most impactful things you learned!

The Firefly Children & Family Alliance 15th Annual Trivia Night sponsored by Delta Faucet Company is in the books, and we're thrilled to share that over $25,000 was raised for Indiana children and families. Our trivia team, the "Alpha Deltas," was made up of Young Professionals of DFC (YPD) members Simon Elser, Connor Canavan, Winston Amankwah, Susi Peredo-Muñiz, and Tom Gospel MBA PMP (YPD Mentor). Susi says that while the team didn't walk away with bragging rights, they had a wonderful time. "As the night went on, we realized just how much we should listen to our wiser mentors like Tom. Every time we submitted an answer that differed from his guess, we found out he was right!" She jokingly adds, "Maybe that’s an indicator of how we should approach our work as well!" The evening's festivities also served as a great way to learn about and support this impactful organization that changes lives in our community every year. It's day three of the 60th Annual Indiana Human Resources Conference & Expo presented by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and we're so proud of our own Stacy Mowrer, Vice President, Global Human Resources, who served as a Closing Engagement Session panelist yesterday. Stacy, who is a member of the Indiana Chamber Board of Directors, joined facilitator Andrea Butcher and fellow panelists Dionne (Archie) Thomas-Harper and Denny Darrow to discuss HR's role in partnering with executive teams. "Events like this strengthen the HR community and the companies we work for," says Stacy. "I am honored to have been a part of the panel to share my career experiences, learn from others, and discuss common challenges that we all face." The panelists also provided practical HR strategies in both "the good and the not so good times." If you'd like to find out more about the event, visit www.indianahrconf.com.

Learning, connecting and giving back were the goals last week when HR team members from across the organization came together at global headquarters in Indianapolis. For two and a half days they focused on discovering more about the business, installing faucets, volunteering at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, and of course, having fun. "Another amazing trip to Indy," says remote employee Rachel Chizek. "We learned things about our products, the complexities of distribution, and even how to make macaroons ... with plenty of laughs along the way!" For those in attendance, what was your favorite moment?

We believe in exploring water from every angle that is important to the consumers we serve, and that includes going deep into the science and subjective world of water taste. Which is why we're so excited to share that Innovation Lab team member Mike Sale has been certified as a water sommelier from the Fine Water Academy! "To have gone through this course and reached this goal is so meaningful," says Mike. "It's been quite the collaborative journey for both me and DFC, and I'm excited for us to know even more about this amazing resource that every human uses every day." Please join us in congratulating Mike for this monumental achievement!

When employees connect with each other in meaningful ways, good things happen. That's why we're so excited about Delta Connect, which is a program that allows participants to cultivate team connections when they're randomly matched with colleagues for virtual chats, casual conversations, or meetups at work. "As a fully remote employee, I am so thankful for this program and see so much benefit," says Jackie Sulhoff, who recently enjoyed a 30-minute online conversation with Meet P.. "We enjoyed learning not only about each other's area of business, but also personal things too, like cultures and favorite foods," says Meet. We're looking forward to hearing more about future connections, and are interested to know ... how do you make connections at work with your colleagues?
