"One of our core beliefs is that if you can't measure it, you can't impact it, and you can't personalize it to the user's experience." Daniel Levine invited CIONIC founder and CEO Jeremiah Robison to join him on The Bio Report to discuss all things CIONIC - how we developed the technology, the ways our incredible customers are using the Neural Sleeve, and transforming #healthcare at the next great technological frontier: #neuromodulation and #bioelectric medicine. #bionicclothing #neurotech #thebioreport
Jeremiah Robison, CEO of CIONIC, discusses the company’s Neural sleeve, how functional electronical stimulation helps people with movement disorders walk, and how the use of adaptive algorithms continuously optimizes the stimulation it delivers. https://lnkd.in/gPRsYgm9

Today is #NationalCerebralPalsyAwarenessDay! Approximately 764K children and adults in the United States have a diagnosis of cerebral palsy, making it the most commonly diagnosed childhood motor disability in the United States. And yet, our communities are still not accessible, inclusive, or equitable. Together, we can change that. One of the easiest ways to raise awareness and show your support is to wear green, the official color of National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day. Here at CIONIC, we are wearing green to not only raise awareness but also to celebrate the progress, personal achievements, strength, and resilience within the cerebral palsy community. #GoGreen4CP

Earlier this week, CIONIC announced three new Centers of Excellence, and as part of that, the appointment of Enrique Alvarez, MD, PhD, associate professor of neuroimmunology at UCHealth University of Colorado School of Medicine and the vice chair of clinical research for the department of #neurology, to CIONIC’s Scientific Advisory Board. I had a chance to sit down with Dr. Alvarez recently. We talked about his background, and how he chose neurology, and ultimately, #neuroimmunology with a focus on #multiplesclerosis. He describes a specialization in #MS as a calling, one that became clear during his neurology residency and led to a three-year fellowship through the National MS Society. We talked about his research on #biomarkers as well as #DMTs, and the importance of #mobility for MS Care. Only fitting that we got to have this conversation during #MSAwarenessMonth. "The benefits of wearable devices in health technology also bring the ability to better measure a patient's lifestyle outside of a clinical space through the data that it collects, and they often aren't accompanied by the same side effects as a drug that might be prescribed to improve function." Today in the Denver Business Journal - an interview with new SAB member Dr. Enrique Alvarez from UCHealth, as well as more information about our new Centers of Excellence. Thanks Analisa Romano for the coverage! https://lnkd.in/gNDqXXrG #MSAwarenessMonth #MSAwareness #bionicclothing #neurotech #neurotechnology #cionic

Another exciting day at CIONIC! We are proud to announce the addition of three new Centers of Excellence - UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital, the region’s largest adult academic medical center, Craig Hospital, a world-renowned rehabilitation hospital that exclusively specializes in #neurorehabilitation, and Neuro Physical Therapy, a distinguished physical therapy practice that supports patients with neurological conditions. Together with these new centers, as well as the inaugural CoE at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, we can deliver a connected experience from clinic to community, united by the #NeuralSleeve. We are also thrilled to welcome Enrique Alvarez, MD, PhD, to the CIONIC Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Alvarez is an associate professor of #neuroimmunology at University of Colorado School of Medicine and the vice chair of clinical research for the department of #neurology. He brings deep expertise in neuroimmunology, and specifically, #multiplesclerosis patient care, to the SAB. He joins Dr. Charles Adler of Mayo Clinic, Dr. Carrolee Barlow of ESCAPE Bio, Dr. Alberto Botter of Politecnico di Torino, Dr. Kara Flavin of the Palo Alto VA Hospital, and Dr. Richard Zorowitz of MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital and Georgetown University on the Scientific Advisory Board. https://lnkd.in/gcrdBgnb #msawareness #mobility #neurotech #neurotechnology #assistivetechnology #neuromodulation

In my first month at CIONIC I have met amazing individuals who use the Cionic Neural Sleeve, clinicians seeking to serve their patients, and talented teammates dedicated to helping people who live with mobility difference. Visit our Community page to watch device user experiences and learn more about the bionic clothing that combines the diagnostic power of a gait lab with the therapeutic power of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) into a lightweight, durable (and stylish!) garment that can be worn anywhere and work everywhere. https://lnkd.in/gd2hMJPX #Neurotech #Neurorehab #MS #multiplesclerosis #strokerecovery

Thanks to Dee E. for sharing your Neural Sleeve experience. It's an honor to work with you, and thank you for the work you are doing to raise awareness about assistive technology! #mobilityaids #assistivetechnology #wearabletech #bionicclothing #neuromodulation
Neural Sleeve by Cionic A couple of people have asked me if I have tried the Neural Sleeve. The Neural Sleeve is an FES (functional electrical stimulation) device and just became available in 2023. The results for people are just amazing. Last year I contacted the folks at Cionic and I must say that even though I was not a customer, they answered all my questions and anticipated follow ups, while also addressing any concerns. VIP customer service. They also invited me to come to the SF Bay Area to trial it and discuss options with them in person. I figured that the sleeve would control a hyper-extended knee, but they informed me that mild cases may benefit, but at the time it was not something they could solve. They are hoping to include options for hyper-extended knees in future versions. While they don’t recommend wearing a knee brace with the sleeve, many of their users actually do successfully wear a KO for a hyper-extended knee over the sleeve. They typically have a waiting list because demand is so high. And be sure you check with your insurance because FES is generally not covered by insurance. The current cost of the Neural Sleeve is a $260 down payment, $260/month for the first 12 months, then $120/month after month 12. For people that need an AFO, I encourage you to sign up for their monthly newsletter and/or read the testimonials on their website https://cionic.com/. This might be your "forever brace" @Cionic
