The Young Canadians Roundtable on Health, in partnership with Plan Canada International, is hosting the Confident Me Workshop, a free virtual, 60-minute workshop focused on body confidence. These interactive workshops seek to tackle the root causes of low self-esteem and body confidence, including beauty ideals and negative body talk, that too often cause youth to opt out of leadership opportunities. The workshops will promote: - An enduring cycle of positive self-esteem and body confidence - A culture shift that embraces and promotes self-esteem and body confidence - A reduction in stigma around conversations about self-esteem and body confidence - An increase in digital literacy and resiliency to social media pressures. To all of the girls who have ever been doubted before, this is your sign to continue to girl boss away! I have been named in the Top 25 Women of Influence this year! I'll be joining the ranks of individuals who have been ultra-successful in their careers. It has been a struggle to put into words what it means to be receiving this and joining other accomplished women. These past few years have been no doubt difficult in my life, from navigating personal chronic illness to stepping up to new places in my activism journey. Each of them has its own story and lesson that I'll be carrying throughout my life. I want to thank my colleagues, mentors, and friends for supporting me in my activism journey. Thank you to my colleagues at Our Kids' Health, Knowledge Institute on Child and Youth Mental Health and Addictions, YCRH - Young Canadians Roundtable on Health, Children First Canada , and many others whom I work with daily for trusting and supporting me on my activism journey. Thank you to my closest friends and family members for supporting me even when I'm at my lowest. When I moved from Indonesia 12 years ago, little Raissa only wished to make the world a little kinder and to have helped at least multiple people in my circle. Now, I have the privilege to advocate on provincial and national systems level healthcare and advocate for children and youth across Canada to receive equitable and accessible healthcare.
