Dr. Meaney is a clinical pharmacist-scientist in the field of nephrology pharmacy. He provides acute care clinical pharmacy services to internal medicine and nephrology patients at the Erie County Medical Center, where he precepts pharmacy students and residents. Dr. Meaney‘s research is focused on the optimization of drug therapy through the application of quantitative clinical pharmacology. He leads a multidisciplinary group of researchers to address the pharmacologic management of anemia in hemodialysis patients. Other work has focused on drug-induced nephrotoxicity. In the classroom, Dr. Meaney teaches kidney disease pathophysiology, pharmacology, patient assessment, and therapeutics.
