Addiction treatment has rapidly evolved in the past two decades—with new research, new funding sources, new treatment approaches, and new recognition of untreated substance use’s impact on the country. Continually evolving evidence-based practices are guiding clinicians to identify how best to serve patients, and are also being used at organizations such as BayMark Health Services to drive the business plan. Employing this strategic approach, Dr. David K. White, who has master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Vanderbilt, has grown the organization from 3 clinics in California in 2008 to more than 390 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, making BayMark one of the largest opioid treatment providers in North America. At this year’s Retreat hear how Dr. White employs evidence-based science to better serve BayMark’s communities, drive organizational decisions, and increase service effectiveness.
