Event Info & FAQ

Abstracts

To read scientific abstracts, click the "Abstracts" button in the bottom navigation bar on the app home screen or open a presentation from the daily schedule. Unless otherwise noted in this Abstract PDF or by the speakers, speakers have no commercial relationships to disclose and will be presenting information only on devices, products, or drugs that are FDA approved for the purposes they are discussing. Abstract content appears as it was submitted; only titles have been edited for clarity and consistency.

Annals Manuscript Submission

Each abstract that is presented orally or as a poster during the STS 58th Annual Meeting must be submitted before or at the time of the meeting to The Annals of Thoracic Surgery for publication consideration. Manuscripts must be submitted via The Annals online manuscript tracking system (editorialmanager.com/annals) by Sunday, January 30, 2022, 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time.

Attending the Virtual Meeting

What content is included with virtual registration?

Content from the 58th Annual Meeting will be live-streamed on the virtual meeting platform, and on-demand sessions and e-posters will be available. Recordings of nearly all sessions will be available to all registrants for 1 month on the platform, and then for an additional year as part of complimentary access to the Annual Meeting Online product.

How long will the STS 2022 virtual platform be open/available?

The live portion of the STS Annual Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, January 29 – Sunday, January 30. The online platform and on-demand content will be available to registrants beginning on Monday, January 24, 2022. The platform will remain open to attendees and exhibitors until March 1, 2022. However, attendees can view the digital archive of the entire Annual Meeting on the STS’s Learning Management System until January 29, 2023.

How do I log into the STS Annual meeting?

Click the Login button in the top-right blue bar. Enter the email address you used to register and your 8-digit registration confirmation number.

How do I access the STS 2022 live broadcast?

Click on the daily schedule links or the Live Broadcast Sessions tile on the homepage. Choose the session you want to attend and click the “Livestream” button at the bottom of the session pop-up. You must be logged in to view sessions.

Can I watch more than one session at once?

No. Logging in to another window with your same username and password will kick you out of the first window. You can only watch one session at a time. All sessions are being recorded for you to watch at a future date.

In what time zone is the meeting live-streamed?

The meeting schedule is displayed in Eastern Time. During the live event, you can opt to display the schedule times in your local time zone. Click on "My Profile" and select "Display times in my time zone."

When will the live sessions become available on demand?

Each session will be recorded and available on the platform shortly after the completion of its live broadcast. Open the session you wish to view from the schedule and click the “Livestream” button to view the recording.

What is Annual Meeting Online?

All registrants receive complimentary access to Annual Meeting Online, which provides on-demand access to nearly all of the meeting content and a subsequent opportunity to earn significantly more continuing medical education credit beyond what you can earn during the live event. More details will be available after the event.
