Dan Samson is the Director of Government Relations at Argentum, the leading national association representing professionally managed, resident-centered senior living communities, and the older adults and families they serve. His responsibilities include representing the association to federal lawmakers and agencies, monitoring legislative and regulatory issues affecting the senior living industry, advising the association's political action committee (Silver PAC), advocating for policies that support choice, independence, dignity, and quality of life for all older adults, and communicating issues to Congress, member companies, industry stakeholders, and the general public.
Prior to joining Argentum in December 2019, Dan worked on health insurance policy for eight years at the National Association of Health Underwriters, where he led the association's policy communications efforts on issues involving the sale and service of health, long term care, disability, and other insurance products. Previously, Dan worked for the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, a non-profit advocating for choice in public education, and before beginning his professional career, interned with AARP’s Office of International Affairs and both houses of Congress. Dan has a Bachelor’s degree in Government and International Politics and a Master’s degree in Public Policy, both from George Mason University in Virginia.
