Senior Scientist

Steffen Cosson is currently a senior scientist at Cellenion. He earned is M.Sc. at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland) in 2008, being amongst the first graduate class of the Life Science and Technology Faculty, and his PhD in the Institute of Bioengineering from EPFL working under Professor M.P. Lutolf, in 2012. His thesis work involved the development of micro-culture platform at the interface between microtechnology, advanced biomaterials and stem cell biology.
After completing his PhD, he accepted a post-doctoral position (2013-2018) between the University of Queensland (UQ) and the Commonwealth Science and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), working on rapid biomaterial discovery for application in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, under the Professor J.J. Cooper-White.
In 2019, he joined Cellenion as a senior scientist where he is currently leading the spheroONE project which aims at the development of automated spheroids and organoids isolation, sorting and manipulation technology.
