Biotechnology Specialist
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
I am a Biotechnology Specialist at MIT Lincoln Laboratory with an undergraduate degree in Microbiology from Clemson University where I ran track and field (sprints, hurdles, and relays) for the Tigers. I also have an MS in Biodefense Policy from George Mason University, where I assisted in laboratory toxicity studies with Cold War era Bioweapons researchers using strains of bacillus anthracis exposed to human small airway epitelial cells (HSAECs).
My interests in my work include detection of select agent pathogens as well as development of medical countermeasures against them. My hobbies include recreational sports (particularly baseball, basketball, flag football, fishing, boxing, skiing and snowboarding), as well as drawing using my Ipad, playing piano or guitar (when I get a chance which is almost never!), and learning new languages on DuoLingo (currently learning French and have a 70 day learning streak going!).
