Dr. Plaxco completed a Transitional Internship at the University of Texas at Austin in 2005 and Diagnostic Radiology Residency training at the University of Kentucky in 2009. Dr. Plaxco became board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology in June 2009. After five fulfilling years in private practice as a general diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Plaxco completed a Breast Imaging Fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in June 2015 gaining subspecialty training in all modalities of Breast Imaging. Since July 2015, she has worked in private practice focusing primarily on Breast Imaging. It is her greatest professional privilege to serve patients in the early detection, diagnosis, and staging of breast cancer, as well as the diagnosis of benign breast conditions. Her professional interests include high-risk breast lesions, contrast-enhanced mammography, and the diagnosis and management of granulomatous mastopathy.
