Research & Education Fund

A portion of your ticket purchase will go directly to supporting the SBI Research & Education Fund. Contributions or gifts to SBI are deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes in the US. The SBI Federal Tax I.D. is #22-2701841. SBI will notify individuals what portion of their ticket purchase is tax deductible.

The mission of the R&E Fund is to support the research and education of breast imaging professionals. In doing so, SBI wishes to offer travel grants to residents and fellows who have been selected to present their original scientific work at the SBI/ACR Breast Imaging Symposium. The travel stipend will allow those members an opportunity to attend the entire conference to be able to network with their peers and leaders in the field of breast imaging. Future plans include assessing the research and education needs of the breast imaging radiology community and developing funding programs to address these needs; evaluating applications for funding and providing grants for research and education that will further the science of breast imaging; and raising and managing the funds that make these grants possible. Your support ensures that future awards will be made possible through your generous donations.

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

The safety of meeting attendees is SBI’s top priority, and we believe the most effective way to ensure the safety of all attendees is for them to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Attendees should be aware that, while SBI will make every effort to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission on-site, it is possible that attendees will come in contact with people in airports, hotels, and around the convention center who could potentially carry the virus, which is why ASH is requiring attendees to be fully vaccinated for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

For the purposes of right of entry to the SBI meeting, a person is considered fully vaccinated:
  • Two weeks after receiving the second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines; or
  • Two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine, such as the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine
SBI will accept a full course of immunization with any vaccine that has been authorized by the World Health Organization (WHO) or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The product may be either fully authorized or authorized under an emergency use authorization or equivalent at the time of travel (see list of eligible vaccines). Vaccination with an agent that is not included on the WHO or FDA website as authorized will not be accepted.

For those unable to travel or meet the vaccination requirement, SBI will be offering virtual meeting registration.

All SBI staff working at the meeting will be fully vaccinated; however, SBI is not legally able to require local convention center staff to be vaccinated. SBI is working with local entities in Savannah to develop on-site protocols in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.

Cancelation Policy
