Dr. Erik Blomain is a Holman Research Pathway Resident in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University. As a thyroid cancer survivor himself, he also serves as the patient advocate for Thyroid Cancer for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Guidelines Commnittee. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Cornell University as a double major in Biology and Classical Civilizations. He went on to earn dual MD and PhD degrees at Thomas Jefferson University where he completed his dissertation on colorectal tumorigenesis and cancer prevention research. Currently, he is training to become a Radiation Oncologist and working on Postdoctoral Research in which he studies tumor clonal evolution in response to radiotherapy in Sarcoma. Upon completing training next year, Dr. Blomain hopes to pursue a career in academic medicine and research as a Physician Scientist, as well as continue his work in cancer patient advocacy. In his spare time, Dr. Blomain enjoys science fiction (both reading and writing as a professionally-published author), spending time with his fiance and 2 dogs (both Belgian Malinois), jogging and enjoying what the Bay Area has to offer.
