This session will first review the phenomenology of hyperkinetic movement disorders including tremor, dystonia, chorea, myoclonus, and tics. Features of parkinsonism and Parkinson's disease will be covered in more depth, with an overview of current treatment paradigms. Participants will hear about recently approved medications, surgical options for treatment of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, as well as indications for sub-specialty referral.

Participants should be able to name and describe the hyperkinetic movement disorders: tremor, chorea, dystonia, myoclonus, and tics
Participants will be able to recognize the clinical features of parkinsonism and Parkinson's disease
Participants should understand the symptoms of advancing Parkinson's disease and possible treatments for these symptoms
