Dr. Robert "Bob" Schenck, MD is a Orthopedic Surgeon in Albuquerque, NM at the University of New Mexico and has over 30 years of experience as a board certified sports medicine surgeon. Bob obtained his MD from Johns Hopkins in 1984 and went on to complete his residency in 1989 at Hopkins. Bob has been an academic sports medicine physician since 1990 and has been a NCAA I team physician from 1990-2000 at UTSA RoadRunners in San Antonio, and with the UNM Lobos in Albuquerque from 2000 to present. Bob has been Chair of the Department of Orthopaedics at UNM from 2005 to present and continues a clinical sports practice that ranges from the simple to complex knee surgery including osteotomies, multi-ligamentous/KD surgeries, and meniscal/articular repairs. Bob was Godfather for the AOSSM/SLARD Traveling fellows to South America in 2017, continues to enjoy mentoring medical students, residents, fellows, and is an active research participant with the UNM Sports Medicine group.
