Brent McGinty became the chief executive officer of Missouri Behavioral Health Council in January 2013. In this role, Brent continues to push for policies and funding priorities that recognize the value of MO Coalition provider services – healthcare home, disease management, outreach, wellness, integrated care, recovery, data/outcomes. From 2007 until his appointment as Coalition CEO, Brent was a senior staff member at the Missouri Department of Mental Health, beginning as director of budget and finance, advancing to director of administration of the Division of CPS, and then being promoted to deputy director of administration of the entire department. From 1998 to 2007, Brent served as a budget analyst for the non-partisan Missouri Senate Appropriations Staff. From 1991 to 1998, Brent worked in several positions in local government, including city administrator and budget analyst. His accumulated experience of 20+ years includes working during nine legislative sessions on eight state department budgets, as well as having direct responsibility for DMH contracts and budgets. McGinty earned a BA in political science and history in the honors program at Missouri Southern State University. His MPA in public administration as an “outstanding graduate” was earned at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
