The United States Department of Energy (DOE) Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program is celebrated it’s 20 year in 2021 and has surpassed over 1 million completed projects. The market, technologies and business environment for delivering home performance, however, is rapidly evolving, with national focus now on advancing residential retrofits to meet climate, equity and resilience objectives. Home Performance programs and contractors must be prepared to incorporate advanced technologies, all while facing significant workforce challenges. How will the home performance industry evolve to meet these challenges? Presenters will discuss new directions and strategies for scaling and accelerating home energy upgrades, including the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program, ENERGY STAR Home Upgrade, and prescriptive approaches focused on high-volume home improvement projects, beneficial electrification, and rehabilitation of low-moderate income housing.
