Roger H. Kobayashi resides in Omaha and has been on the Volunteer Faculty at UCLA for the past 32 years, where he is a Clinical Professor. He previously served on the full time faculty at the University of Nebraska (Director of Immunology/Allergy with tenured rank of Assoc Prof of Pediatrics & Medical Microbiology) and UCLA School of Medicine (Director, Pediatric Allergy Clinic).
Dr. Kobayashi was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and received his BA in Economics and MD from the University of Nebraska as well as an MS in cardiovascular physiology from the University of Hawaii. He received his residency and fellowship training at USC and UCLA respectively. His 100 papers have focused on asthma, recurrent iinfections and treatment of Immunodeficiency disorders.. He has been a visiting professor at a number of U.S. medical schools as well as the Universities of Hanoi, Hue and the Military Medical School-Hanoi, and an invited lecturer in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Central America. He has testified before Congress, as well as the State Legislatures of Hawaii, Kansas and Nebraska on health access issues.
He is an Expert Consultant for the Immune Deficiency Foundation and is a recipient of their Physician Volunteer Award and was founding member and first President of the Nebraska Allergy Society. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Volunteer Faculty Award from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology [2016], The AAAAI Volunteer Faculty Award [UCLA 2015], Certificate of Outstanding Contribution Vietnamese Medical Association [Presented 2015 Annual Meeting Vietnam Medical Association Meeting, Hanoi, VN], and Certificate of Appreciation Ministry of Health [Presented 2006 Hue, VN]
His outside passions are his family and three grandchildren, Hawaii and golf.
