Raising the Bar: Using DEI Work to Inform Performance Management

When schools implement diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, they often seek to educate employees on their awareness of issues such as implicit bias and white privilege. With this work comes the challenge of addressing and correcting employee behavior that is not necessarily legally-actionable discrimination but nonetheless erodes inclusivity. Learn about some of the common challenges when seeking to correct employee conduct as well as potential response strategies. Learn too about the legal issues that schools can face in their performance management approach.
Participants will learn about the tools they can use to address poor performance related to DEI initiatives, as well as strategies for approaching what can sometimes be a difficult conversation.
