As we live through yet another phase of the pandemic, your business office may be deciding operationally to return back to campus full-time, work remotely or in a hybrid situation. Whatever you do, it will be important for your school to build your internal controls to address the new work practices. During this transition, finance teams alongside management and audit committees should revisit their policies and procedures manual to update or even transform the internal control structure to align with new processes.
