Advanced Learning Services Coordinating Teacher

Andria Hall is one of the Advanced Learning Services Coordinating Teachers for the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) in the Raleigh, NC area. She is in her 16th year as an educator and has worked mainly in the elementary school setting as a classroom teacher and AIG teacher. Ms. Hall obtained her Bachelor's degree in Education from UNC-Wilmington and her Master's Degree from NC State University in New Literacies and Global Learning. Ms. Hall found her love of gifted education early in her educational career and obtained her AIG licensure from North Carolina Central University. It was during that time she learned about the needs for her high achieving students and how best to support their academic, social, and emotional needs. From there, she became the AIG teacher at her elementary school for many years. For the last four years Ms. Hall has been the Advanced Learning Services Coordinating Teacher in Wake County Public Schools.
It is her belief that our gifted students are gifted all day every day and should receive an education that supports their needs. Her vision is that we look at our gifted programming in our MTSS framework to better support our gifted learners during core and to provide opportunities for students outside of the school setting to be engaged, involved, and challenged. Because of her belief in equity and excellence in gifted education, a students racial, ethnic, economic, or other demographic factors should not reduce their likelihood of access and successful participation in advanced programming.
Currently Ms. Hall is a member of the North Carolina Association of Gifted and Talented in an effort to support the educational, social, and emotional needs of academically and intellectually gifted students. Ms. Hall is also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
