Dr. Cindy M. Gilson is an Associate Professor in the Cato College of Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She teaches graduate level courses to educators pursuing their M.Ed. in Special Education with an emphasis on Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) education or their Graduate Certificate in AIG. Dr. Gilson is the Director of the Graduate Certificate in AIG program, and she is the Co-Director of the Education Honors Program for undergraduate education majors. Her research interests focus on gifted education, differentiated curriculum and instruction, classroom discourse, teacher listening orientations, and differentiated professional learning.
