Short description: Many bright students who are Twice Exceptional (2e) have difficulty putting their ideas in writing. In this session we identify the reasons why writing can be problematic and offer strategies used to promote divergent and creative thinking to encourage students to find their voice and become authors and producers. These strategies include morphological matrices, storyboarding, character interviews, and guided imagery.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will:
Learn how to use a morphological matrix to inspire character, setting, plot, and conclusion in storytelling
Learn to use guided imagery as a prewriting activity to inspire descriptive writing and storyboarding
Learn how to use character interviews and other creative dramatics to provide schema for character and plot
