Short description: The field of educational neuroscience is booming. But what hands-on (and evidence-based) advice does brain research really offer those who teach, program for, and parent young gifted children? This session provides evidence for three areas of early childhood practice: talent development approaches to inclusive identification and programming, executive functions improvement, and the critical nature of appropriate challenge for brain development.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will:
Understand the basics of neuroscience evidence for early childhood practices
Learn to distinguish "neuromyths" from "neurofacts"
Apply neuroscience to teaching practice in three important areas
