Short description: Self-oriented and socially-prescribed perfectionism can cause anxiety. Maladaptive perfectionism through unrealistic expectations can become performance anxiety. When these are factors, it can make or break a student’s performance. This session presents research-based coping skills to help increase student confidence.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will:
Experience strategies for coping with test and performance anxiety through hands-on and simulated learning
Gain strategies for supporting healthy perfectionism and a growth mindset
Identify different types of healthy and maladaptive perfectionism to support those who experience performance anxiety symptoms
