Short description: Many gifted children struggle with the social-emotional skills necessary to create and maintain relationships. While many Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programs exist in schools, they are often not adapted to the unique needs of the gifted population. This presentation demonstrates techniques on how to promote SEL skills for gifted children by demonstrating and adapting games.

Learn about the neuropsychological reasons for social-emotional differences in gifted students
Identify how to make the social-emotional skills that gifted students need to learn practical and concrete
Explore how to implement an SEL activity effectively and how to ensure that the vital lessons are appropriately taught
