Short description:Engineering Design Challenges (EDCs) are hands-on activities where students design and build a solution for a common problem, usually given set criteria or constraints. This session discusses tools and resources for finding or creating a high-quality EDC, facilitating it for maximum engagement, and sustaining gifted students’ interest in STEM beyond the EDC.

Gain resources for high-quality engineering curriculum and the ability to judge appropriateness for gifted and talented students using a research-based checklist
Learn implementation and facilitation strategies based on best practices for fostering situational interest and inquiry with hands-on learning activities
