Short description: In this session, participants learn how to conduct a thorough assessment of their gifted program to determine effectiveness. Participants learn methods for organizing the assessment, types of data to collect, and how to interpret and use findings to direct program improvement. We share tips for facilitating the self-assessment and pitfalls to avoid.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will:
Gain an understanding of the importance of conducting a self-assessment to determine the effectiveness of gifted programs
Understand what different types of data (qualitative and quantitative) are beneficial to collect to determine program effectiveness
Learn how to use the results of the self-assessment to guide the future development of the gifted program
