Mark Ashwill is managing director and co-founder of Capstone Vietnam, a full-service educational consulting company with offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). From 2005-2009, he served as country director of the Institute of International Education-Viet Nam. He has written and presented extensively on issues related to Vietnam, U.S.-Vietnam relations, Vietnamese studying overseas, accreditation, international student access and equity, international student recruitment, the development of intercultural competence, and Vietnam market conditions. His most recent book, Vietnam Today: A Guide to a Nation at a Crossroads was published in 2005. In 2003, Ashwill became the first US citizen to be awarded a Fulbright Senior Specialists Grant to Vietnam. He is an adviser to VietAbroader, a student-run Vietnamese nonprofit whose mission is to empower Vietnamese youth to contribute to Vietnam's sustainable development, a member of the Advisory Board of Teachers for Vietnam, a U.S.-based non-profit organization, the only foreign member of the Science and Training Council of the University of Education, Viet Nam National University, Hanoi.
