Firoj Gurung (he, him, his) is the Coordinator for International Student Programs in the Orientation and New Student Programs Office at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. He has 5+ years of expereince working directly with internatenational students in higer education. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Johnson & Wales University.
He grew up migrating throughout multiple communities of India and Nepal, where he gained exposure to different languages, cultures, and religions. Firoj takes pride in being the first from his family to attend college and becoming the resource for new generations to explore, embrace, and express their identities in positive and creative ways. Firoj advocates for creating a welcoming and engaging space in the higher education system for students coming from different parts of the world. His personal interests are experimenting in cooking with spices and vegetables, biking, hiking, kayaking, and volunteering in local nonprofit organizations.
