There are over 165 species of Belonuchus in the neotropics. In recent years there has been an upsurge in work on the subtribe, but despite this Belonuchus in the West Indian Bioregion have been overlooked. Blackwelder’s (1943) monograph of Staphylinidae of the West Indies contains a key and descriptions of all 13 West Indian Belonuchus species. However, my own research has already uncovered 23 species and many new faunistic records that need to be incorporated. In this talk I will report on the progress I have made so far revising this genus in the West Indies.
