IECA Annual Conference Mentoring Program

IECA will pair first-time attendees or attendees who are new to the field with members who are more experienced in the field. When you register for a full conference pass you can select to be a mentor or a mentee. Program mentors should be comfortable with attending the annual conference and be able to provide industry guidance to an attendee who has never attended or just entering the field. You must be an IECA Member to participate.

The Mentee Experience

Provides first-time participants an opportunity to enhance their meeting experience and connecting with a seasoned professional to expand their peer network.

The Mentor Experience

Connect with attendee (via telephone) at least once prior to the meeting to provide information about the conference experience. Meet up with the attendee at the conference to answer any questions regarding session offerings, logistics, etc. Contact the attendee monthly thereafter to check in to see how their job is going. This is your opportunity to learn from the attendee as well!

  • Applicants must be attending the conference for at least three days. Mentoring pairs should plan to meet with each other two times and be willing to remain in contact via phone or email post conference for six months after

Process

Sign up to become a mentor or mentee when you register for the conference. A few months prior to the conference, you will be contacted via email to answer a survey to help connect you with an applicable mentor/mentee. Mentors will connect with mentees one week prior to the conference.
