The BugHub is the heart of IDWeek! We are creating a central space where attendees can gather, network, and take advantage of different IDWeek and partner society opportunities . Learn more about what's in the BugHub below. The BugHub can be found in the Grand Lobby in Salons ABC and GHI of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The IDWeek Info Desk can also be found in the BugHub area where you can get most questions answered.

365 Lounge
The ID 365 Trainee Lounge is a professional networking lounge for early-career attendees (medical students, residents, and fellows) in training or transitioning from training in infectious diseases (ID). Each day, the Lounge features informal MedTalks aimed at different topics important to early career attendees – such as career paths and career development. The MedTalks are a unique opportunity for YOU to interact with experts in the field of ID and have your questions answered about career development.

Career Booth
Looking for a job or looking to hire? Swing by the career center booth to see our job board. And, don’t forget to sign up for the Career Fair on Thursday evening.


IDSA/HIVMA Advocacy Pod
Come visit the Advocacy Pod to learn about IDSA and HIVMA’s policy and advocacy work and to get involved! IDSA and HIVMA public policy and government relations staff will be on hand to talk to attendees about federal policy priorities, including ID workforce, AMR, funding for public health and research and more. Learn about how to make your voice heard and affect change for the ID community and your patients.

IDSA Foundation Lounge
The IDSA Foundation Lounge, located in the BugHub will host an Advancement Zone.  This is where you can get an updated headshot, participate in career coaching 1-on-1’s and other sessions geared toward improving your reach and impact on social media.  We want to help you get the word out about your own work and research as a way to advance your career and the field of ID.  These sessions are free and open to any IDWeek attendee. 

BugHub Stage
New for IDWeek 2022, it’s the BugHub Stage! Come hear the interesting stories and experiences from your colleagues. The BugHub stage will feature presentations that touch on the great experience of working in infectious diseases and that ultimately lead to greater understanding and treatment of patients as well as stories that go beyond science and medical care - such as the intersection of art and science.

Speaker Ready Room
All speakers should check into the Speaker Ready Room to upload their final slides and do a final check of their presentation.

The Speaker Ready Room hours are: 
Monday, Oct. 17: 2-6 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 18: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 19: 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 20: 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 21: 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 22: 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. 

SHEA Foundation Lounge
The SHEA Foundation Lounge has three areas of focus: 

- Education and recognition of leaders in the field
- Promotion of an international exchange of ideas
- Fostering a strategic scientific research agenda

If you've donated to the SHEA Foundation in 2022 in support of these goals, or would like to donate, please visit the lounge. Reconnect with SHEA members, recharge your phone, and find out the details of current programming while you are there.

IDSA Compensation Corner
The Compensation Corner provides attendees a space to learn about the fundamentals of physician compensation and strategies that can be used to improve compensation. Attendees will be able to book an appointment with our expert team to have one-on-one discussions about their compensation as well as learning more about what IDSA is doing to raise awareness of the value of ID.
