Description: As leaders in bakery equipment manufacturing, we have a responsibility to implement sustainable practices. We must commit to improving all facets of our business - design, processes, sourcing, and operations - to meet sustainability goals of reducing energy consumption and overall carbon footprint. In order to maintain our planet for future generations, we must change the way we do things today. This presentation will cover the importance of sustainability in the bakery process by focusing on 3 areas: People, Planet, and Prosperity. With considerable time being spent on the baking process, as the oven is the largest source of emissions and energy usage, and how innovative oven designs can reduce costs, energy and emissions.
Classroom Engagement: This topic is at the forefront of everyone's minds and will generate a lot of interest. After Joe's presentation, we could engage a panel of speakers, including bakers and suppliers from large companies that are already implementing sustainable practices and plans. We could then open the floor up for Q&A to get the audience engaged.
