Systems theory explores the dynamics of existing systems within society and examines the interdependent correlation between systems. Research reflects, in high-stress situations, issues faced by one group can spread throughout society, resulting in adverse, emotionally taxing environments and difficult dynamics within other systems. With increasingly diverse communities, societal stressors, social justice issues, and pandemic-related challenges experienced by law enforcement and communities, the need for innovative approaches to reduce stress and tension among systems is critical. With a focus on building and maintaining trust, the opportunity for engagement and communication can result in systematic changes for society at large.
