Dr. Marx practices with the Carolina Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and UNC Medical Center Infectious Diseases Consult Services (general and immunocompromised host). She trains pharmacy students, residents, and ID fellows to synthesize and apply available evidence to patient cases and to demonstrate diligent, compassionate care. Dr. Marx directs the Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy Elective at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and teaches in several other courses. She is a Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and infectious diseases pharmacist.
Prior to joining UNC, Dr. Marx led antimicrobial stewardship programs at Inova Fairfax Hospital and Emory University Midtown. She completed her undergraduate and pharmacy degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy; PGY1 training at the Medical University of South Carolina; and PGY2 ID training at Wake Forest Baptist Health.
