Dr. Sharyn Katz is a thoracic radiologist and an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania with a clinical focus on malignant pleural mesothelioma and lung cancer. Her primary research focus is development of clinical imaging biomarkers to predict therapeutic response in thoracic malignancy, including malignant pleural mesothelioma and lung cancer, and refining measurement of therapy response in thoracic malignancy. Dr. Katz is an active member of the International Mesothelioma Interest Group (IMIG) , ECOG-ACRIN, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and has leadership roles in the Society of Thoracic Radiology (STR) and American College of Radiology (ACR). Dr. Katz also is co-leader of the Thoracic Oncology Radiomics Working Group (THOR) at the University of Pennsylvania. She is engaged in several projects related to development of predictive and prognostic radiomics signatures in non-small cell lung cancer.
