Steve Pegram was appointed as Chief of Goshen Township Fire and EMS in 2009. In addition to his duties as Chief in Goshen, Chief Pegram has also served as the Township Administrator for Goshen since 2016. As Township Administrator Chief Pegram oversees all township operations including an accredited Police Department, Road Department, Zoning & Economic Development, Human Resources, Finance and Cemeteries. Chief Pegram has a total of 32 years of public service having served as both a career and volunteer fire chief, fire marshal, training officer, shift commander and deputy chief in mostly combination fire departments in located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ohio.
Chief Pegram has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Mercer College in Trenton, NJ and a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management from Wilberforce University. Chief Pegram completed the Ohio Fire Executive Program (OFE) program on 2012 and the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executives in State and Local Government program in 2022.
Chief Pegram is active in both local and national fire service organizations. Chief Pegram is a Past President of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI), Chief Pegram serves on the FDIC Fire Group Advisory Board, IAFC/FRI Program Planning Committee, CFSI National Advisory Council, AFG Grant Criteria Committee and the Board of Directors for Connect Clermont, ESCI and GPSS.
