Tiffanye S. Wesley is celebrated as a leader and trailblazer. The internationally-certified John Maxwell Speaker, Trainer, and Coach is also a Deputy Fire Chief, responsible for the Personnel Services Division with the Arlington County Fire Department in Arlington, Virginia - the first African American female to be promoted to this level of leadership in the department’s 80-year history.
A 28-year veteran of the Arlington County Fire Department, Tiffanye has served in numerous positions. The two most notable positions include Nationally Certified Bomb Technician and Bomb Commander and Station Commander for the largest and busiest firehouse in Arlington.
This ‘woman on fire’ is an inspiration to men and women all over the country because of her transparency and story of determination and commitment in a career no one ever thought she would survive. Her ‘No Matter What’ and ‘If they say I can’t, I will prove that I can’ attitude has allowed her to climb the ladder of success even when the odds were stacked against her.
Tiffanye released her published work in the book anthology, No More Chains. Her story is also profiled in a 2017 documentary by the same title.
Tiffanye is married to her best friend, Eric Wesley, who is a Captain in Arlington County. They have four beautiful children, two of whom work in public safety, and three beautiful grandchildren.
