Dr. Mirza is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, at the University of Connecticut (UConn) School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Rush-Westlake Hospital Residency Program, and worked as a primary care physician health care shortage area. She subsequently pursued clinical research fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, followed by fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism and Women’s Health at the UConn School of Medicine. She currently serves as the Clinical Director, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolosm and Director, Osteoporosis Clinic, at UConn Health. She also serves as key clinical faculty for the Fellowship training program in Endocrinology and Metabolism at UConn Health and as the Clerkship Director for Ambulatory Medicine Clerkship at the UConn School of Medicine . Her clinical area of focus is treatment of patients with osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases, with a special interest in the treatment of men and women with underlying secondary causes of osteoporosis including hormonal therapies that impact bone health.
