Dr. Silvio E. Inzucchi is Professor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, where he serves as Clinical Chief of the Section of Endocrinology. He is also Medical Director of the Yale Diabetes Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Prof Inzucchi received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed his training in internal medicine and endocrinology and metabolism at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He has authored or co-authored over 500 manuscripts, monographs, textbook chapters, and abstracts, and has lectured at national and international levels predominately on clinical diabetes managment. His current research involves studies on the link between type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance and cardiovascular complications; management of hyperglycaemia in the hospital; and diabetes prevention. He is the 2021 recipient of the Outstanding Physician-Clinician Award from the American Diabetes Association.
