Matthew Burgan, NRP, CP-C is a nationally registered paramedic and board-certified community paramedic. He began his career in public safety in 2003, obtained a paramedic license in 2009, and joined the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services in 2013. In 2019, Matthew assumed the Division’s role of Community Paramedic, and has since become the first paramedic in Maryland to attain board certification as a Community Paramedic. Matthew is passionate about community health and improving both the lives of the residents in Frederick County, as well as the emergency medical system that serves them. He has been recognized by the Frederick Chamber of Commerce with the Life Saving Award, as well as by the American Legion (Post #11) as Paramedic of the Year.
