Kelvin Paul Davies, BSc, MSc, PhD, Professor of Urology, Professor of Physiology and Biophysics, Albert Einstein College of Medicine ("Einstein")
I joined the Department of Urology at "Einstein" in 2001. I am currently Director of Urology Basic Research and have joint appointments as Professor in the Departments of Urology and Physiology and Biophysics. I am trained in basic research as a biochemist and molecular biologist, and have more than 17 years of experience in urogenital physiology. My research spans from basic science to clinical translation and I have authored over 50 papers in top ranked, peer reviewed journals, such as Science, Nature Genetics, FASEB, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Molecular and Cellular Proteomics.
A major focus of my research over the past 17 years has been to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying urogenital dysfunction, in particular, sexual dysfunction. I am currently PI on an NIH/NIDDK R01 to study the molecualar mechanisms underlying priapism, MPI on an NIH/NIDDK R01 studying cavernous nerve regeneration following injury and MPI on an R21 studying the association between the microbiome and kidney stone disease.
