I'm Dong-mee Song and working in the Display Solutions Business Unit of Merck KGaA as a head of Technical Marketing LC Korea and Business Development New Display Materials Korea. I'm responsible for promotion of Merck’s technological advantages and supporting customers in applying new material solutions in displays and driving new business opportunities for Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. I'm engaged in driving business development for the liviFlex line which offers solutions for flexible, foldable and stretchable displays, and globally leading the cluster of organic thin film encapsulation material. Prior to this role I held a senior manager role in R&D and was closely working with leading display companies in Korea. During this era, I was responsible for not only commercial LCs development but also many new LC topics like 3D lens, nano-encapsulation of LCs, smart LC window, optical films etc. I joined Merck Korea’s Business in 2005, and holds a PhD in chemical engineering from the university of Hong-ik, Where I was working on the photo-alignment of LC molecules.
