Gerasimos Konstantatos has been leading the Functional Optoelectronic Nanomaterials Group at the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), Barcelona, Spain since 2009. Since 2015, he has been an ICREA Research Professor at ICFO. He received his Dipl. Ing, in electrical and computer engineering, in 2001 from University of Patras, Greece and his M.A.Sc. and Ph.D in 2004 and 2008 from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept at the University of Toronto, ON, Canada. He has been the recipient of the MIT TR35 Spain award in 2012 and the Fresnel Prize in 2013 for his salient contributions in the field of colloidal quantum dot optoelectronics. He has published more than 90 journal publications and has been inventor in more than 15 licensed patent families. He is cofounder, scientific advisor and member of the board of QurV Technologies. He has been awarded twice with ERC consolidator grant awards. His research interests lie in the field of photodetectors, light emitting diodes, lasers and solar cells based on colloidal quantum dots and 2D materials.
