Dr Adrian Travis operates a one-person consultancy, Travoptics in Paris, France. He spent the first half of his career at Cambridge University where he was a lecturer. He invented a video display that produced three dimensional images and was developed jointly with American First Run studios in Los Angeles. In 1998, he set up CamFPD to market pupil-expansion and wedge projection displays and the company was sold to Microsoft in 2007. He worked for Microsoft until 2017 where he developed a curved wedge eye-piece for augmented reality. He worked at Facebook from 2018 to 2019. His latest invention is a wavelength-thick camera film that will allow images to be captured from anywhere on a display surface.
